About My Morning

Some days I have a really hard time getting out of bed. The pillow is so comfy, the sheets are so warm and I try to snuggle up to my husband as long as possible before he has to climb out of bed to get ready to head off to work and leave me to my day full of homework and housework. Sometimes I'd like to freeze those moments. The moments when I lay wide awake in the morning, cocooned in the covers, simply talking to my husband. I love those moments.

Rewind to this morning. My husband is able to shut off the alarm before it begins blaring at 7 a.m. Thank. Goodness. I hate that alarm clock. It is really one of the most annoying, irritating sounds I've ever heard. I don't want to get up even though I know I have to have Minnie to her Grooming appointment over in Pratt between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. (20 minutes away) I roll over. I tell my husband to reset the alarm clock to 7:45...I am not getting up. Where did this stubborness come from? I really am not sure whether to blame my mother or my father for that one. :)

I load Minnie and myself in the truck and begin the trek to Pratt. I love that Minnie is such a good traveler. She is pretty much the perfect angel in the car. She loves to go on a ride. I drop Minnie off and head to change my Driver's License. No, I really had not changed it since I got married. So today my Driver's License now officially says Kendall instead of Applegarth. :) That took a sum of 15 minutes. I had 2 hours and 45 minutes to kill before Minnie would be done. In Pratt. In Pratt, Kansas. In Pratt, America. What was I to do?

I decided to just drive and stop when I felt like it. I saw a Dollar General. I thought maybe they would have some cheap craft supplies to make a fall leaf wreath. Negative. They didn't. But, I did score some amazing cookies for a pretty incredible price. I may begin snack shopping in Dollar General more often. I then went to Alco. Yes, Alco. I looked around at all the holiday decor they had and decided it was way too expensive for me, especially from an Alco. However, I made it over to the rugs. I am so glad I did. I found a wonderful rug for the kitchen. I have been wanting to put a rug in front of the sink to hopefully cover up part of the ugly carpet. It is a pretty good size rug. At least 3 feet long and probably 2 feet wide. I am not sure of the dimensions. I was just suprised at the price for this decent sized rug. I walked out of there with this blue/green/brown/cream rug for $6. Six dollars! :) Love it!

Look at that cutie sleeping on the new rug! :)

Oh...Wait! Did you see that white dishwasher? Yes, it did use to be "Harvest Gold". My husband used appliance spray paint on it. It's gorgeous compared to the before picture!

Can I just saw "ew!" at this picture. Ew!

I then had to find things to do.....ooo..boy.

I went to Walmart, of course. Then went downtown and just walked around. I went into a secondhand store, but it smelled so badly of smoke that I had to turn back out and leave. I don't love cigarettes and I really don't love being subjected to other people's cigarette smoke. I went out to the high school and visited my sister-in-law who works there. I love my sister-in-law. I really was super blessed with this wonderful family.

Finally I went and picked up lunch at Subway and went back to the Groomer's. Minnie was finished and beautifully cut. She looks so much better. Her hair was getting wayyyy to long. I love it short. It's easy to care for, she's happier, and it's super soft to pet. :) No negatives there.

Anyways, that was my morning. Why I wanted to blog about it, I am not sure....but it just felt right.

Most important lesson learned today:

Alco has amazing deals on simple rugs.

  1. ooooooooooooooooooooooooo I miss minnie :(.... will u send her to me please? :) it would really make me quite a bit happier :D

  2. Haha....I don't think there is any way to contain her in a box to ship her to you. She's kind of a wild child. ;)
