Sneak Peak of the Nursery

With 11 days until this baby's due date, I have been hard at work cleaning the house and finishing up his nursery. We are not quite done with the nursery.
Justin is working on painting our glider rocker white.
I still need to paint the return air vent cover and put it up.
I have a couple pillow covers I want to sew that I will heat transfer a motorcycle and his initial on.
And I am going to put a vinyl of his name above his crib.
Since his name is a secret and we have so far succeeded in keeping it a secret from everyone we know, that is something that will go up after he has arrived.

So here is a sneak peak of the nursery we have been hard to work on. Pictures when it is all finished will be posted after he has arrived. :) Which is hopefully soon!

First off, I did make the bumper pads myself. First "big" sewing project that I've completed. I think they turned out pretty awesome.

This dresser was in my sister and I's nursery. My mom and I repainted it white as it was chipping and needed a fresh coat of paint. Justin put on the new hardware that we picked out at Lowe's. I love the simplicity of the black metal pulls on this white oak dresser. The wall of motorcycles was made all by me. :) This was one of my first projects with my Silhouette machine that Justin gave me for Christmas. Frames are from Walmart. The lamp I also recovered with fabric to match the bedding.

An awesome find at 50% off at Hobby Lobby. This is a metal hanging.

Overall I am very happy with how the nursery is coming along. We have spent a lot of time on this nursery. From sheetrocking over the plaster, texturing, painting, pulling up the carpet and refinishing the hardwood floors, some furniture to re-do, sewing the bumper pads, a valance, and some pillow covers, and several other projects that we have done ourselves.

He has a very one of a kind nursery that he can also grow into. I cannot wait to finish all our projects up so we can see our final result that we did all by ourselves (with the help of some family of course).

  1. It looks adorable! I can't believe it's 11 days now...so excited for you! Praying that everything goes as 'smoothly' as can be expected...just remember...it will come to pass...God didn't say that a woman would forget for any reason except that it's true. It's hard in the moment, but there is that joy that causes us to forget! =) Praying for you!
