Sharing Your Testimony

About a year ago someone suggested to me that maybe I should consider not writing.

I may have almost dropped dead right there because writing is like breathing to me. It truly flows within me and blogging or even simple Facebook posts where I write my thoughts, my life, my reflections has become a place of my deepest vulnerability.

It's taken a lot to get there.

It's taken a lot to understand that vulnerability is strength in the way that our weaknesses allow us a way to connect with others and allow God to work through us.

It's taken a lot since I have been broken down by others a few times because I allowed my vulnerability to show through.

It's taken a lot of tears, a lot of pain, a lot of growing within myself to get where I am today.

Obviously I didn't take that suggestion but it still sticks with me because I wonder why someone would encourage another to stop doing something that allows them to share their testimony.

Some people share their testimony on a stage with spoken words.

Some people share their testimony privately with others when they can help someone else through the connection of two lives.

Some people share their testimony by living it out daily for others to see.

Some people share their testimony by the written word.

Many share their testimony by more than one of these methods. The important part of all of this is to continue to share your life, your weaknesses, your lessons, your experiences, your ideas, your opinions, your complete self with others to allow Christ to work through you in the best way He can.

I came across a verse in Revelation.

And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. Revelation 12:11

They have conquered. Conquered evil. Conquered the wickedness of the world that tries to poison everyone within it's sight. Conquered the devil himself.

This verse refers to Michael and his angels who fought the dragon (the devil) and his angels and won. This particular passage also goes on to say how the devil will be hurled down to the earth and with fury will war against all those who keep God's commands and hold fast to their testimony about Jesus.

Persecution is part of testimony and it always will be, but so is redemption and in the end great victory.

However you can share your testimony. Share.

Speak it loud. Speak it quietly. Speak it to on a stage. Speak it through typing words on your computer. Speak it to many. Speak it to select few. However you choose to share, do so!

Our testimonies are what shows the love and the power of Jesus Christ. Our testimonies is what will prove to be victorious over evil.

If you ever wonder if you actually have a testimony you are not alone. I have wondered this many times myself. Then I recount my life. For life is made up of many different moments, big and small and God can be found in them all.

The Lord is mighty and He is always with us and He has done great things in your life. Share those things. Share those moments. Share your life boldly.
