Potential For More


Do you ever have that deep aching in your soul that cries out for something.

Just something.

Something more.

Something more than.

Something more than what you have now. Do now. Are now.

It burns with desire but flickers with doubt.

Oh doubt.

Doubt that steals joy.

Doubt that steals potential.

Doubt that steals time.

Doubt that steals motivation.

Doubt that takes so much from you and doesn't give anything of worth back to you.

I'm a stay at home mom. Doubt has been a real thief in my household lately. Doubt has created chaos in my life. Doubt has made me belief that this is as good as it gets.

Oh no.

No, no, no.

Doubt... you are so incredibly wrong.

Even though life is good there is great potential that tomorrow the sun will shine brighter and feel warmer than it does today.

There is always potential for more. Potential for more joy. Potential for more success. Potential for more love. Potential for more laughter. Potential for so much more greatness in your life.

You may be thinking, "This sounds wonderful Shelbey, but you don't know me. You don't know my life. You don't know what I'm going through. You don't know where I've been. You don't know what I have to overcome. You couldn't possibly be able to know that there is potential for more."

But I do. 

There is always the potential for more.

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. 

Ephesians 3:14-21

The words are written. 

The words have been said. 

The Lord is good. 

The Lord loves you. 

YOU!

You in all your doubt.

You in all your weakness. 

You in all your imperfectness. 

He loves you. 

He gives you power through Him, in Him. 

This love surpasses knowledge. 

There is no one, no thing that can measure how much the Lord loves you. 

May you be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 

There is potential. 

You have potential. 

Potential for more. 

Potential for fullness. 

Potential for power.

Potential for the greatest love ever known to not only man, but to all.

You will fall.

You are weak. 

But He is strong. He is good. He is the greatest love. 

And He gives it all to you. 

I know there is potential. 

Scream at doubt. 

Don't let doubt win when the potential of so much more is within your grasp. 

He is always there. 

Waiting. 

Calling your name. 

Listen.

There is potential for more.
